Lambert Santelli and Maite Maiora win in Mallorca, and Juuso Simpanen takes a second Kullamannen title
Santelli won the 138 km race across the Serra de Tramuntana by 42 minutes, and Maiora finished 17th overall. In Sweden, Simpanen and Anna Carlsson won the Kullamannen 100-mile race over the same weekend.

France’s Lambert Santelli won the 138 km race at Mallorca by UTMB on 31 October, finishing in Port de Sóller in 14 hours 38 minutes 2 seconds, more than 42 minutes ahead of the next runner. Spain’s Maite Maiora won the women’s race in 18:01:27 and was 17th overall.
On the same weekend in southern Sweden, Finland’s Juuso Simpanen won the Kullamannen by UTMB 100-mile race in 15:39:15, and Sweden’s Anna Carlsson won the women’s race in 16:44:26. Both events are part of the UTMB World Series, and their longest races give the top three men and women a direct place at the following year’s UTMB in Chamonix.
Santelli breaks clear in the Tramuntana
The Mallorca 138 km starts at Cala Estellencs and crosses the Serra de Tramuntana to Port de Sóller with 5,350 m of climbing. It started in waves at 22:00 on Friday 30 October, with Santelli leaving at 22:15, u-Trail reported. About 2,400 runners from 64 countries took part across the event’s distances, according to xc-run.de.
Santelli, from the Balagne in Corsica, led at Valldemossa after 24.9 km, lost the lead at Bunyola and spent the next stretch in second. He took it back at Tossals Verds, around 70 km, which u-Trail called the turning point. By Can Bajoca (77.5 km) he was almost 35 minutes clear of Gabriel Airiau, and he kept pulling away.
Jérémy Lenormand finished second in 15:20:41 and Airiau third in 15:32:12, making it a French podium. Tobias Geiser, one of the favourites, dropped out at around 60 km, xc-run.de reported.
Santelli is best known for the GR20 in Corsica. In June 2021 he set a record of 30h25 on the route, 41 minutes faster than François D’Haene, and it stood until D’Haene lowered it in July 2026, u-Trail noted. He has also won the Trail de Bourbon in Réunion (2019) and the Madeira Island Ultra Trail (2023).
Maiora wins the women’s race
Maiora’s 18:01:27 placed her 17th among all finishers. France’s Céline Finas was second in 19:28:31 and the Czech runner Andrea Vlasáková third in 20:20:19, xc-run.de reported.
Last year’s winner, Hannes Namberger, did not start. His 2025 time of 13:37:31 was an hour faster than Santelli’s, though xc-run.de pointed out that differences in course and weather make direct comparisons difficult.
In the 104 km race, Poland’s Marcel Fabian won in 9:33:46 and Norway’s Henriette Albon in 11:23:06. Andorra’s Samuel Ponce won the 56 km in 4:53:19.
Simpanen wins again in Sweden
The Kullamannen 100-mile race started at 18:00 on Friday 30 October in Höganäs and finished in Båstad on the morning of 31 October. The official timing recorded the course at 168.5 km with about 2,020 m of climbing, u-Trail reported.
Simpanen, a former footballer from Finland, also won the race in 2024, according to his own website. This time he beat France’s Baptiste Derouin by 4 minutes 17 seconds. Alexandre Boucheix, the Frenchman who won the first edition in 2022, was third in 16:07:10 after moving up from fourth in the final kilometres. It was his fifth Kullamannen finish in a row, u-Trail noted.
Carlsson won the women’s race by more than an hour and a half. Norway’s Anne Luksengaard Mjelva was second in 18:24:31 and Denmark’s Emma Lemminger third in 18:47:10.
Places for Chamonix
A top-three finish in the longest races at UTMB World Series events earns direct entry to the following year’s UTMB finals, subject to registration rules, u-Trail noted. That puts Santelli, Maiora, Simpanen and Carlsson, along with the other podium finishers in Mallorca and Båstad, in line for places in Chamonix in 2027.
